How To Capture An Invisible Cat – Blog Tour, Southern Hemisphere Ed.

How-to-Capture-an-Invisible-Cat-fast-paced-funny-creative-YA-for-all-2

For the past several weeks I’ve been flying and riding the rails on a book tour for my new book, The Genius Factor: How To Capture An Invisible Cat, where I’ve met a ton of amazing schoolchildren, teachers, librarians and booksellers! That’s done, but for the next few days I am still on a Book Blog Tour, which includes reviews, interviews, guest posts, and more. This tour goes around the world, hitting blogs based in the USA, the UK, and Australia & New Zealand! Previous tour stops were at Daddy Mojo, the Nerdy Book Club, Jenuine Cupcakes, This Kid Reviews Books, and Fiction Fascination.

How To Capture An Invisible Cat was released in hardback in the USA on March 1, but it comes out in paperback on April 7 in the UK,  May 1 in Australia & New Zealand. (It’s much the same as the US version, except it features illustrations by Katie Aley instead of Thierry LaFontaine, and some of the words are spelled different!) So in advance of those events, the tour has traveled from America to the UK, and today takes a hard turn south to Australia, where the Gobblefunked blog has a review!

Genius Factor volume One: Release date… March 1st

March 1st is the debut of my Genius Factor series of novels!

genius factor 1

You can preorder the the book HERE, or you can do a spiffy thing and talk to your local bookstore, because support local bookstores, because they are are awesome.

The Genius Factor series will have five volumes in all, telling the story of how, every Friday the 13th, 11-year-old genius Nate Bannister purposefully does three admittedly not-so-smart things, just to keep life interesting. After all, there’s nothing like a huge explosion of chaos to keep a genius interested! The Genius Factor adventures are all seen through the eyes of Nate’s classmate, Delphine Cooper, a girl with a penchant not only for adventure, but also detention.

In the first volume, Nate’s taught a caterpillar how to read, and he’s mailed a love letter to the most popular girl in school, and… well… he’s not only turned the family cat, Proton, into an abominable giant, but also made him invisible. And Proton, as cats do, is causing trouble. BIG trouble.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the nefarious Red Death Tea Society, known not only for their horribly nasty world-takeover plans, but also their admittedly impressive tea-brewing skills, are choosing the chaos of the feline crisis as the moment to strike against Nate and Delphine, the greatest threats to the society’s domination! It’s going to take all of Delphine and Nate’s courage, creativity, and friendship to save the day. Also a jet-belt. And a talking dog. And snacks.

And… oh look, there’s erasers! (I don’t have one of these. I want one of these.)

The Genius Factor books are geared for Middle Readers, but I wrote ’em for everybody who enjoys adventure and humor and science, really. That’s probably you. You should read the books.

Mystery Girl #2… in stores this Wednesday!

This Wednesday is the release of the second issue of Mystery Girl, published by Dark Horse Comics, with me on the writing, art by Alberto J. Alburquerque, and colors by Marissa Louise. This has been one of my favorite all-time projects, a detective who already knows the answers to all the mysteries, but the ramifications of the solutions are often worse than the crimes themselves.

Friday the 13th? I got a whole book about that!

book covers

It’s Friday the 13th, and that means it’s an EXCELLENT time to pre-order the first book in my new Genius Factor series, a series where Friday the 13th plays a major part! You see, Nate Bannister is a genius. I mean he’s SMART. And not just smart for a 5th grader. He’s the smartest person who’s ever lived… SO smart that he gets a bit bored, and so every Friday the 13th he does three different things that… aren’t smart. I mean NOT smart. This time, among other things, he’s made a giant invisible cat. It goes… WRONG. So wrong.

The Genius Factor books feature Nate and his Friday the 13th problems, all seen through the eyes of his adventurous classmate, Delphine Cooper. Unfortunately, it’s not just the Friday the 13th problems they have to contend with, because… together… Nate and Delphine are the last hope against the Red Death Tea Society, an organization of genius assassins bent on taking over the world and also making some really top-notch high-quality tea.

It’s a wild ride. With a giant invisible cat. And tea.

The first book in the Genius Factor series can be pre-ordered… HERE

Here’s the feeling you’ll have if you read this book!
