A.I.W.W. Part Thirteen: Dustin Weaver

OBLIGATORY ENTRY STATEMENT: After making a list of all the Artists I’m Working With (A.I.W.W.), I decided to post a bit of each of their work. The pieces I’ll be posting are from various projects, none of them yet published, and I’m trying to stick to pencils, unless the artist is doing both pencils and inks.

Next up is Dustin Weaver, one of my studiomates at Periscope.  I should mention that the reason that I put in the Clint Eastwood clip, above, is that Dustin has an upcoming western piece for an anthology, and it’s some of the balls out best art I’ve seen done in comics. So, now when I think of Dustin, I think of westerns. That said, the piece that Dustin and I are working on together is decidedly different.

Comic art buffs will probably recognize this style of art, and recognize this piece as an homage. And, in keeping with the "homage" feel, you might note a few cameo appearances by some of Dustin's favorite creators, who also happen to be some of my favorite creators. I'd talk about how good this art is, and why I've enjoyed working with him, but it's kinda obvious, ain't it?

The story we're doing is so short I can only tease it with three panels, but luckily Dustin put about a full comic's worth of effort into these three panels, so everybody wins.

Look, do I even need to hype this? If you miss this comic, you will not have it. My god, don't you understand the consequences!!

And… in closing… one more classic western.

    Clint’s mistake……four coffins.

When you can shoot like that, you don’t need math.

Are you revamping the MA Fantastic Four along with MA Spider-Man? *notes Fantastic Four Giant-Sized Adventures*

Unfortunately, no. In fact, this giant-size issue will be the last MA: Fantastic Four for a while. I WILL be doing a bit of a changeover in the MA: Super Heroes title in a few months, though. I’ll be writing that series regularly, and a few months into that writing they’re letting me do as close to a multi-issue story that the Marvel Adventures line allows. I’m really looking forward to it.

    Even better Clint western:
Clint: “When I get to liking people…they don’t tend to be around for long…”

Chief Dan George: “I notice…when you get to disliking people they don’t tend to be around for long either.”

Yeah… there are so many great bits that when I was making this post, scouring Youtube for a good clip, I ended up sitting around for maybe half an hour, watching gunfights.
