Coming out this week is Marvel Adventures: Avengers # 37, with art by Dario Brizuela, despite what it says in the preview. I had a lot of fun doing this issue, because I decided to play with some golden age characters. I was especially happy to use Miss America, and Golden Girl.

If you’ve followed my career, you know I’ve been bringing back some of my favorite underused characters. How do I know they’re underused? Simple. There’s one solid rule for “character underuse.” Do a search for that character’s name, and add “cosplay” to the search. If there are ZERO photos of people dressing as that character, then that character is unknown.
Here's what I got when doing a search for "Golden Girls cosplay." It's unfortunately not the ONLY thing I got when doing the search. There was also some Very Important Reminders on why you don't search for anything with "golden" in its name unless and until you engage the safesearch function.
And then i got this for "Miss America" cosplay. Why the hell did this come up? Internet, you confuse me. But I do like this pig.
And, of course, it simply goes without saying that I’m not going to post any of the pictures that come up with you’re foolish enough to do an internet search for anyone named the Whizzer.
I’m frightened to imagine Golden Girls cosplay. Somewhere out there I imagine a really obsessed Bea Arthur fanclub…
