All things are Hulk (Tobinthians: 11-13)
Was just idly doing some visual “Hulk” research on the computer, and amongst the photographic wealth of guys painted green and showing their wangs (safe search is for cowards) I found a few amusing photos / illustrations, and in lieu of doing an update with any actual substance…. I’m just going to share them.

Hulk and Wolverine face off, in this epic drawing by Andy Helms. Feel the fury... the clash of titans, rage unbound vs. unfettered fury. I goddamn love this drawing.
More of Andy’s work can be found… here.

Okay... sorry about the creepy Hulk related photo. Here's one with a pretty Japanese girl, and I promise I'll never again post a photo of the Hulk being creepy.
This last picture was nabbed from the uber-excellent Plaid Stallions website, incidentally. Go there and be amused and amazed.

The drawing by And is a masterpiece. SERIOUSLY.
I like it a lot, too. I actually wasn’t aware of his work until I ran across this drawing, but I like his other stuff just as much.
As a kid, I remember seeing the Elektra: Assassin TPB with it’s painted front cover, gaudy luminous-pink back cover and what appeared to be the usual array of quotes on the back from numerous worthy newspapers, singing the praises of said book. Even as a child, I never credited any of these positive reviews, I knew better I thought! Then I read one on the back of the Elektra TPB from a Dallas-Fort Worth paper (I think) which said “We must protect our children from this.” No review, positive or negative ever resonated with me as much! Needless to say, Elektra came home with me that day, and for once, a comic which had completely intrigued me in the shop exceeded even my wildest expectations.
The point? Well, after looking through the various pictures in your posts Paul, there remains only one thing to say;
“Paul Tobin, we must protect out children from this!!”
Happy birthday Paul!
I’ve had a couple experiences similar to yours with Elektra…. in that sometimes it’s reviews from people who HATE things that make me think it’s right up my alley. I remember when that Elektra trade came out, too…. it was a big changeover in how I saw comics.
It’s still my joint favourite Frank Miller story…along with “Year: One.” I like the fact that, even though I’ve read it and re-read it till it is dog-eared, that if I leave it for a few months, I >still< get confused by exactly what is happening at the very start!
