TODAY! Genius Factor Book Three: How To Tame A Human Tornado

tornadoRelease day! How To Tame A Human Tornado, the third volume in my Genius Factor series of novels for middle readers, is available now in hardcover and electronic book!

The adventures continue for sixth-grade genius inventor Nate Bannister and his best friend Delphine in the third book of The Genius Factor series. It’s Friday the 13th again, and Nate hasn’t just done one really outrageous thing. He hasn’t even done THREE crazy things like normal. No, this time he’s gone and hidden his science vials full of his inventions throughout the town of Polt. He’s trying to avoid the Red Death Tea Society as always, who continue to hunt him down. They know where Nate lives now, so his only choice is to conceal his experiments in places they wouldn’t think to look. But things are about to go very, very wrong, including: an overwhelming amount of toads in Polt, zebras running wild, and lightning storms that won’t quit.

Nate and Delphine have been in lots of trouble before, but this is their most disastrous Friday the 13th yet . . . and we can’t promise a happy ending quite yet.

All the Genius Factor books feature illustrations throughout by Thierry Lafontaine!

In additional Genius Factor news, book two, How To Outsmart A Billion Robot Bees, is now available in paperback! You can find the series at Bloomsbury.com, Amazon.com, or wherever you buy books!

I WAS THE CAT is out… TODAY!!!

Yes! The day is finally here!

Screen shot 2014-06-26 at 5.40.16 PM

Yes! It’s finally time for the official release of I Was The Cat, a graphic novel that Benjamin Dewey and I spent a couple years of our lives on, and it was all worth it, because we are proud as hell of this beauty. The story concerns Allison Breaking, a blogger who’s been hired to write the memoirs of the mysterious Burma, who turns out to be… a cat. You know all those paintings of megalomaniacal rulers with cats on their laps, all the historical despots with cats? Yeah… well it turns out that all of those cats were Burma, leading past lives, trying to take over the world. HE was the true mastermind behind these kings and conquerors, but he failed each time, and paid for his failures with eight of his nine lives. And now, on his last life, he just wants to take it easy. Or DOES he…? That’s what Allison has to figure out as she records the tale of… I Was The Cat.

You don’t have to love cats to enjoy I Was The Cat. I mean, sure… the main character IS a cat, but he’s kind of scary, when it comes right down to it.

You can purchase I Was The Cat from a variety of places, but please try to frequent your local comic store, because they are the spine of this industry. Here’s the handy Comic Shop Locator service, if you’re not sure of your closest comic store’s location. If you can’t get to a comic store, nab up a copy from online, such as from HERE.

And, in closing… here’s Superman being terrified of a cat again.

BANDETTE: The comic Colleen Coover and I create to make everyone (including us) happy.

If that’s true, I think I can solve the problem. You see, you obviously haven’t had enough Bandette in your life! Bandette is the most charming comic that has ever existed. It has drama, romance, action, and intrigue. It has thieves. It has GLORIOUS thieves. It has dangerous men and beautiful women. It has dangerous women and ugly men. And spies. And candy bars. Bandette is, in short, an Eisner-winning foray into the delightful garden of comics.

Above is an example of how hard the charm comes at you when reading Bandette, the story of the greatest thief in all existence, a teenage girl with a heart for adventure, a taste for chocolate, and a talented group of adoring urchins who help her fight crime, and occasionally to commit a bit of it themselves, because… you know… that thief thing.

Calm down, Adam-12 cops, I can handle this. I’m going to show everyone some art from Bandette.

Screen shot 2014-07-08 at 7.53.34 PM

Bandette has won the Eisner award for Best Digital Comic, and garnered nominations for Best Art, Best Colors, and Best Series. Pretty spiffy, huh?

Don’t cry, Exceptionally Well-Painted Girl. It’s NOT too late! Bandette can be ordered HERE in digital form, from the fine folks at MonkeyBrain and Comixology. And it’s in print from Dark Horse Comics as well. You can order the nicely-priced hardcover right HERE!

Bandette in battle against Matadori, the semi-fiendish assassin!

Batman would probably approve of Bandette. Except for that “thief” thing. He doesn’t like that. Don’t nobody tell him that part.

Bandette daffy

Bandette readers, for sure.

Yes! Go and order Bandette, either in DIGITAL FORM, or the wonderful HARDCOVER EDITION, with so many extras!

Screen shot 2014-07-08 at 7.37.27 PM

Uh-oh! Don’t be that guy!

Curious about Bandette? Let me explain this in simple terms. Bandette is the world’s greatest thief, and Bandette is the world’s most charming adventure comic.
